Best Selling Author Tom Clancy Dead At 66

Best selling author Tom Clancy has passed away at the age of 66 at a hospital in Baltimore.

This morning New York Times writer Julie Bosman reported from her Twitter account “Tom Clancy‘s publisher confirms to the NYT that he died last night in a hospital in Baltimore.” No word on the cause of death.

The famed American author was known for numerous spy and military-themed thrillers set during and after the Cold War and topped the bestseller list with 16 of his novels. Among his most famous stories were his Jack Ryan tales, which include: The Hunt for Red October, Patriot Games and Clear and Present Danger.

His latest novel, Command Authority, is scheduled for release this December.
