Spotify streams of Janet Jackson’s 1986 hit song ‘Nasty’ are up 250% according to the streaming service, following Wednesday night’s third and final presidential debate, where Donald Trump called his opponent Hillary Clinton “such a nasty woman.”
Clinton supporters embraced the term as a sign of empowerment after Trump made the remark when the two candidates were discussing their plans for programs such as Social Security and Medicare.
“We need to put more money into the Social Security trust fund,” Clinton said, before taking a swipe at Trump, who has yet to disclose his taxes. “That’s part of my commitment to raise taxes on the wealthy. My Social Security payroll contribution will go up, as will Donald’s, assuming he can’t figure out how to get out of it.”
“Such a nasty woman,” Trump then said into his mic as Clinton ignored him and continued on.
Spotify broke the news on Twitter, teasing: “Who’s jamming to that nasty groove?”

Trump’s remark instantly went viral, with social media comparisons to Jackson’s song, reclaiming the slur as a compliment.
Janet Jackson has yet to comment on her song’s comeback.
