Square Enix, has spent the last three decades entertaining millions of players around the world. The legendary Japanese studio has churned out some of our generation’s most beloved role-playing games, including the massive and ongoing franchise, Final Fantasy. Whenever the company announces a brand new release, we can assume a great level of excellence and a sure advancement in storytelling and gameplay mechanics. This is why today’s news regarding Square Enix is making fans everywhere incredibly excited.

Earlier this morning, it was announced that Marvel has joined Square Enix for a string of new video games. The first in the series will centre around the ever popular group of super humans, the Avengers. The deal will span multiple years and produce a number of new titles, all of which will be related to the iconic Marvel universe. While details remain scant, we’ve been blessed with a few tidbits of information. According to the official release, the first adventure will involve a brand new narrative. “The Avengers project is being designed for gamers worldwide and will be packed with all the characters, environments, and iconic moments that have thrilled longtime fans of the franchise. Featuring a completely original story, it will introduce a universe gamers can play in for years to come.”

Judging on the wording, our best theory is that this could be a new online MMO. We aren’t entirely sure, but thankfully, we have a short teaser to delve into. Watch the clip below via YouTube and let the speculation begin!
