You Can Finally Watch Prince’s 2008 Coachella Cover of Radiohead’s ‘Creep’

Back in 2008, Prince covered Radiohead’s ‘Creep’ during his headlining set at the Coachella music festival in California. And, it was — pretty awesome.

The song instantly became legendary, whispered about by music fans across the Internet who wished they could have seen Prince’s gripping version of Radiohead’s 1993 classic. But, people couldn’t even watch the performance online. The reason? For years, Prince has been aggressively protective of all of his work citing copyright infringement. In the past few years, Prince has sued YouTube and ensured that any video footage or audio recordings of the performance be quickly taken down whenever they pop up online.

Radiohead’s Thom Yorke  wasn’t particularly keen on keeping the track under wraps. “He’s blocked it?” Yorke told Billboard in 2008. “Well, tell him to unblock it. It’s our … song.”

Yesterday, Prince tweeted out a link to a video of the performance on YouTube, seemingly giving his blessing and giving music lovers a much-sought listen to incredibly, 8-minute cover. Watch it below:
