Hometown rapper Drake will team up with the Toronto Raptors in an effort to rebrand Canada’s lone NBA franchise. The announcement of the partnership is expected to be made during the Raptors media day on Monday.

According to reports the international superstar will become the Raptor’s Global Ambassador and act as a host, business partner and consult for the NBA team.

The budding partnership will be similar to the one between Jay-Z and the Brooklyn Nets when they moved to Brooklyn from New Jersey. Jay-Z helped completely re-design the boring Nets franchise. The Raptors hope that Drake can accomplish the same feat in Toronto, but they won’t be changing their name to the Huskies like many expected them to.

Drake is often spotted court side at the Air Canada Centre for Raptors games when he is in town and once tolda ESPN, “I am a Raptors fan to the death.”
