Bill Clinton: Rob Ford Has ‘Destroyed’ Canadian Stereotypes

Former U.S. president Bill Clinton has weighed in the ongoing Rob Ford’s crack cocaine scandal, telling Jimmy Kimmel that the trouble Toronto mayor has broken all stereotypes about Canadians.

Clinton briefly addressed Ford’s troubles when he appeared on April 2nd’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! to discuss his humanitarian efforts, U.S. politics and speculation that his wife, Hillary Clinton, could run for president in 2016.

“Have you been following Toronto Mayor Rob Ford?” Kimmel asked Clinton as the audience erupted in laughter. “I know he’s Canadian but I would love it if you could put a word in with Hillary. (He’s) a potential running mate, maybe secretary of state.”

“Well, I will say this. He has absolutely destroyed every stereotype people have about Canadians,” Clinton joked. “The Canadians are upbeat, optimistic, can do, they are embracing, they’re inclusive…” “Who’s more inclusive that him?” Kimmel interjected. “Everything I ever believed about Canadians, ol’ Rob has proved that … stereotypes are not good, positive or negative, I guess,” Clinton said, as the pair moving on.
