Karl Lagerfeld to Launch a Hotel and Nightclub Chain

Despite his age, Karl Lagerfeld remains quite busy these days. Aside from his own signature line, the icon recently released his absolutely bonkers, $2,800 art kit, and followed that up by designing Parisian-inspired engagement rings. Now, the 83-year-old is planning a new chain of nightclubs and hotels. In a release sent out earlier today, the Chanel head announced “Karl Lagerfeld Hotels & Resorts”. The branded locations are in partnership with Brandmark Collective BV, and will feature clubs, hotels, residences, and restaurants.

The new properties will heavily feature the designer’s aesthetic. Lagerfeld’s CEO, Pierpaolo Righi, states that they will “broaden Karl Lagerfeld’s comprehensive lifestyle experience”. The collaboration with Brandmark is a natural fit, as the company has opened 25 hotels since its foundation last year.

Lately, Lagerfeld has focused more of his effort on interior design. The fashion figure is working with condominium developers in Toronto and Miami, as well as a massive hotel project in Macau. These ventures have allowed the man to add his own unique flair. His official development deal, however, will allow for extensive creative control. Lagerfeld isn’t the first designer to have his name all over hotels – Armani, Versace, and Bulgari have their own luxurious locations.

As Vogue indicates, Lagerfeld is a self-professed lover of hotels. The designer frequently cites Soho’s The Mercer, as his favourite. No doubt, the man will look to make his signature locations up to snuff. For more details on Karl Lagerfeld Hotels & Resorts, stay locked to AmongMen.
