Sure, you can just grab a chaise longue at the main hotel pool, but if you’re craving your own private space with staff dedicated to making sure your cocktail and food needs are met, splurge and book a cabana at any one of these hotels. We put in the research and soaked up some sun, enjoyed some nibbles and a few cocktails and here are just three of our favourites.

The Cosmopolitan

The Cabana Scene in Las Vegas: The Cosmopolitan

Best for: A stylish, low-key crowd.
The vibe: Decked out with palm trees by the cabanas and sleek, modern furnishing, you almost feel like you’re in Hollywood rather than Vegas. It’s quiet here and the chilled-out crowd is definitely more intent on relaxing than posing.
Must-have: The fish tacos. And the quesadillas, not to mention the juicy sliders; all the food was top-notch here, tastier than any of the other poolside bites we sampled.

Hard Rock Las Vegas Rehab

Best for: A non-stop party.
The vibe: Going strong in its tenth year, the original daytime beach party, Rehab packs the pool with people intent on having a good time. The music varies depending on the DJ–it might be house, hip hop or EDM.
Must-have: Grab a plastic Rehab cup so you can easily bring your cocktail–try the mojito–into the pool (and take it home as a souvenir to keep the party going).

The Bellagio Hotel’s Cypress Pool

The Cabana Scene in Las Vegas: The Bellagio Hotel's Cypress Pool

Best for: A mature scene.
The vibe: From the plush, white terry cloth-covered cushioned loungers to the quiet surroundings, there’s an air of refined luxury as soon as you enter the Cypress Pool area. Get a cabana here if you’re looking to catch up on your novel, or to recover from your one too many mojitos from the night before. Too hot even underneath the cabana’s mist spray? Take one of the inflatable beds and float in the pool to cool off.
Must-have: The Kiwichi, a refreshing kiwi-fruit take on a pina colada.
