Fragrance Of The Month: Hugo Boss, Boss The Scent EDT

Technically, Hugo Boss is a German brand and has been since the distinguished designer flung open his shop doors in Metzingen in 1924 and sold his first sleek and beautifully tailored men’s suit. Recently however, we’re feeling an international vibe surrounding the label, that’s one part British, another South African and the third part, Russian—all thanks to the release of the couturier’s latest eau, Boss The Scent.

First, there’s the British factor: Theo James, the Oxford, Oxfordshire-born face of the fragrance’s ad campaign and video. Best known for his roles in the movies Divergent and Insurgent, James lends a smooth, sophisticated presence to this newest addition to Boss’ impressive line up of colognes.

Next we have South Africa, land of the Maninka, a spicy ginger- and lavender-smelling fruit rumored to be a powerful aphrodisiac reminiscent of sipping rum cocktails on a desert island. This secret ingredient is mixed with burnished leather to create a seductive quality that is as enticing as it is alluring—all captured in a chrome-wrapped glass bottle parallel to its predecessors.

Last but not least is Russia or should we say: Natasha Poly, the Eastern European supermodel who play James’ steamy counterpart is a sultry as they get. Fitting for this oh-so sexy eau.

Hugo Boss, Boss The Scent EDT fragrance comes in 50 ml for $78 and 100 ml for $100. It’s available at Sephora, Murale, Shoppers Drug Mart and Hudson’s Bay stores across Canada.
