Spring Clean Your Home With Fresh Scents

During the early spring months it’s tradition to pull out the mop, bucket and washing rags and scrub your home from top to bottom. Either that or call Molly Maid on speed dial and pay for them to come and do it for you. Whichever way you lean, spring-cleaning is going to happen and yours, FYI, should include a few additional fresh scents to a.) Reinforce the fact that you tidied up or b.) Mask the fact that you haven’t started the cleaning process yet. Here’s how to increase and improve your home’s fresh factor.

Soap
An unwrapped bar of soap instantly fills small spaces, like your bathroom and closets with its fresh, invigorating scent. Pick ultra clean and zesty fragranced soaps like The Body Shop’s Satsuma, Grapefruit and Mango soaps ($5 each, available at The Body Shop stores across Canada) and place the bars wherever you need them.

Candles
Nothing says clean better than the sharp, brisk and rejuvenating aroma of mint. Unless, of course, it’s the minty combo of spearmint, peppermint and lavender all mixed into one candle, like Bath & Body Works three-wick candle in “Mint,” ($24.50, available at Bath & Body Works stores across Canada). Light it up in any room for instant, refreshing appeal. Tip: candles can be multi-purposed to create excellent ambiance…just saying.

Diffuser oils
Having feel-good scents waft throughout your living space not only gives the impression that your house is in tip-top form they also create an enjoyable, relaxing and happy atmosphere. Saje Natural Wellness Diffuser Blend Collection in “Happy,” ($44.95, available at Saje stores across Canada) lets you pick and choose between four great revitalizing, fresh and cheerful essential oil blends.

Reed Diffusers
An ideal option if you want to make everything smell fantastic with as little effort as possible. All you have to do is insert NEST Fragrances Reed Diffuser in “Linen,” ($62, available at Sephora stores across Canada), reed sticks into its decorative oil-filled bottle and place it in your bedroom, den or any other cozy spot in your home to infuse a little fresh-laundry scent.
