Iconic rapper, André 3000, is yet another musician to lend his talents to a famous apparel brand. Following in the footsteps of Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, and The Weeknd, Dré can now add “creative director” to his evergrowing and eclectic resume. Linking up with Swedish footwear and outerwear brand, Tretorn, the Outkast alum will not only design a new capsule in 2018, but will also star in an advertising campaign for the company later this year.

It’s a natural fit for the two parties, both of whom have established a penchant for bright colours and bold aesthetics. In a statement made by Tretorn CEO, Nick Woodhouse, the athletic company seems justifiably excited with their newfound acquisition. “We’re excited to collaborate with André. His creativity, unconventional personal style and unique point of view, as applied to our fresh and reimagined designs, will be an adventure.”

Tretorn is currently celebrating the 50th anniversary of its classic Nylite sneaker, a tennis shoe that’s made its way off of the court and onto the streets. Meanwhile, 3 Stacks himself is set to add to the festivities by overseeing a new slew of kicks and garments. It’s a move that the brand hopes will expand its reach and global influence. “We are making sure that the name of Tretorn gets out there in the sphere of the youth,” Woodhouse states. “The idea with Andre is to make the brand more famous than what it is so the Millennial customer can understand it.”

You can expect the André 3000 capsule in the near future. If you can’t wait for some reason, be sure to peruse Tretorn’s online store here.
