Odd Future mastermind, Tyler, the Creator, has been having an incredibly productive summer. Not only has the 26-year-old creative dropped his critically acclaimed fourth studio album, Flower Boy, but so too has he launched a new television series with VICELAND and a sneaker collaboration with Converse.

The limited edition Golf La Fleur shoes were recently unveiled during a special event in New York City, and drew a massive crowd of diehard fans and streetwear aficionados. Lucky buyers were also treated to an intimate performance by the artist, who brought out special guests Frank Ocean and A$AP Rocky. Before any of this came to life, however, the rapper drew inspiration for his kick design by visiting Converse’s headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts. The entire trip was filmed for Tyler’s VICELAND show, Nuts + Bolts, which premiered just this past week.

To celebrate Tyler, the Creator’s many endeavours and his linking up with Converse, VICELAND has released a clip from this week’s episode which shows the Flower Boy himself learning about the shoe’s history and manufacturing process. Tyler even gets his own hands dirty by operating a 3D printer and a sewing machine. In true fashion, Tyler goes in headfirst and opens his mind to the building process.

You can check out the whole clip below via YouTube. If you missed the first episode of Nuts + Bolts, you can watch it for free here. To cop the Converse x Golf La Fleur, visit Converse.ca and in-person at Toronto’s Livestock store.
