Chevrolet’s Corvette Stingray Wins North American Car Of The Year

Chevrolet’s Corvette Stingray has been named the Car of the Year at the North American International Auto Show.

“Precision isn’t just a word” says Chevrolet. ‘For the designers of the all-new Corvette Stingray, it was a manta.” Sorry, that’s “mantra.”

Other words that bounce around this evil looking machine: ‘cockpit’ ‘space frame’ ‘weapon.’

The Stingray goes 0-60 in 3.8 seconds, and tops out at 460 horsepower with 465 foot-pounds of torque. Aluminum replaces steel to make the low to the ground car lightweight, and its 7-speed transmission does push ups in driveway when you’re in the shower.

The car’s built for speed, but also maximal handling, and that’s the precision Chevrolet’s talking about. Its Magnetic Selective Ride Control softens on rough terrain, making every ride Bruce Wayne smooth. 1.03g on the skid pad means that the speed stays safe.

But you can feel reckless if you want. It does come in yellow.

The Corvette Stingray starts at $51,000 with a 5 year Powertrain warranty.
