Watch the Trailer for New Rick Rubin Documentary ‘Shangri-La’

You may not know his name, but you’ll certainly be familiar with his work. In his long and storied career, Rick Rubin has collaborated with everyone from Kanye West, the Smashing Pumpkins, Adele, and AC/DC just to name a few.

The legendary producer began making music with friends out of his college dorm room, to eventually developing some of the most impactful music of this century. The bearded icon, who now creates magic out of his home studio Shangri-La, will soon be the centre of a documentary that will profile the man, his music, and his life in full detail.

Airing on Showtime this summer, the longform piece, aptly called Shangri-La, will delve into Rubin’s incredible production and break down just why he’s become such a revered figure in the entertainment industry. In the short trailer released online this week, we see small glimpses of his beautiful Malibu studio as one of his mantras appears on-screen. In bright yellow font, “keep asking questions until you fully understand” rolls over a calming shot of the ocean waves.

We can only imagine that all of our Rubin-related questions will be answered when Shangri-La finally does hit small screens very soon. In the meantime, check out the teaser below via YouTube.
