‘Fortnite’ is Now Available for Everyone on iOS

The world’s most popular video game is finally portable. Tech outlet, The Verge, confirmed the exciting news earlier this week and revealed that Fortnite is now available for mobile gamers on Apple iOS. According to the source, any device running on iOS 11 will be able to operate the multiplayer title, which is great news for recent iPhone and iPad owners. Even better news, is that no invite is needed to play and that anyyone can go to the app store, download, and run the game. Much like Fortnite‘s console version, the iOS edition will include the same maps, weapons, and updates that diehards have come to know and love.

This is a huge milestone for Fortnite, which so far claims more than a million players worldwide. The buzzing title formally launched earlier this year, and has so far dominated discussion and screen time on Twitch, YouTube, and other streaming platforms. At first a simple co-op sandbox experience, the game has permeated through pop culture, and now boasts a number of high-profile fans including rapper Travis Scott, Stranger Things‘ Finn Wolfhard, and Toronto royalty, Drake who even live streamed a session last month (you can watch that below).

Epic has also announced that Android players will get access in the next few months, meaning Google and Samsung owners won’t be left in the dust. Just last week, Fortnite delivered a number of new updates including improved snipers-only mode, a unique missile weapon, and a number of mysterious signs pointing to a gameplay switch-up. If you haven’t already done so, you can download the iOS app here.
