Netflix is Selling its Own Marijuana Strains

Netflix and chill just got an entirely new meaning thanks to the streaming service’s genius marketing team. In celebration of the app’s brand new weed-centric show, Disjointed, users will now be able to purchase a tin of Netflix-themed marijuana.

Yes, you read that correctly. To help make this edgy promotional campaign a reality, the company teamed up with a Californian dispensary to dish out the special buds. After some development, the unexpected collaboration birthed a series of ten unique strains, all of which bare a name that references one Netflix original.

Along with a Santa Clarita Diet offering called, “Baka Bile”, customers can snag strains named after Arrested Development (“Banana Stand Kush”), Wet Hot American Summer (“Camp Firewood”), and Bojack Horseman (“Prickly Muffin”). In a release sent out earlier today, Netflix spokespeople said that a considerable amount of thought went into the creation of the strains.

“Each strain was cultivated with the specific shows in mind,” the press release reads. ” [They’re] designed to complement each title based on their tone. For example, sillier shows may be more indica dominant, while dramedies will be more sativa dominant to help the more powerful scenes resonate.”

For now, the weed will be sold at a West Hollywood medical dispensary, and will be only available to those with a standard marijuana license. In the meantime, you can check out the trailer for the show that inspired the strange promo tool.
