Innis & Gunn and Teeling Release Kith and Kin Barrel-Aged Stout

Scottish craft brewers, Innis & Gun, are teaming up with Ireland’s own Teeling Whiskey, for a brand new barrel-aged stout. The two companies have collaborated to deliver Kith & Kin, a jet black beer that boasts a rich and distinguished taste.

Armed with the forward thinking of Innis & Gunn and the centuries’ tradition of Teeling, Kith & Kin is a barrel-aged drink that’s ripe with flavour. The drink possesses bold hints of chocolate, coffee, and coconut, all of which makes for a warming and lasting finish. It’s a hearty and delicious drink that comes just in time for St. Patrick’s Day – perhaps a perfect coincidence for fans of both brands.

Kith & Kin’s special method of aging allows for a light spice flavour, something that isn’t shared with stouts which are brewed inside oak barrels. Aside from being a unique blend of flavours, Kith & Kin is also a limited edition beer, so you’ll have to snag them before they disappear from shelves.

As to how this collaboration came about, Innis & Gunn founder, Dougal Gunn Sharp, says that it comes out of shared respect. “We’ve always held a great deal of admiration for Teeling’s ethos of quality and innovation,” said Sharp. “Like us, they are uncompromising when it comes to flavour and I was intrigued to see what we could create together. When we first tasted the stout, with its rich notes of chocolate and coconut, it was clear we were on to a winner.”

You can snag the sophisticated and refreshing new brew at select beer and liquor stores across Canada.
