Date Day (And Night!) At The Disneyland Resort

Looking for a spectacular spot for a special date? Want to surprise her on her birthday or your anniversary – or need a memorable place to propose? Consider the romance and magic you can find at Disneyland Resort.

A little planning will make the day go more smoothly. You could make reservations for dinner and request the Vintner’s Table menu at Napa Rose – a four or five course meal focused on the freshest seasonal foods available that week. Wine pairings for each course can be added as well. The restaurant’s elegant setting makes every bite taste that much better.

Another dining option: the Blue Bayou with its candlelit tables and Pirates of the Caribbean backdrop. Take her on the ride first and steal a few kisses as your boat winds through the underground caverns before you meet Captain Jack and his crew, then enjoy your meal in the softly-lit restaurant that carries on the theme.

The Carthay Circle restaurant has the romantic feel of Hollywood’s Golden Age, and there’s a bonus attached: you can book your meal to include reserved seats for the dazzling World of Color Nighttime Spectacular at the end of the evening.

If you’d like to be nicely relaxed for that meal, you could book a couples’ massage at the Mandara Spa as well. A little pampering is good for both of you!

That still leaves you plenty of time to hit the rides during the day and enjoy the thrills of Space Mountain and California Screamin’ or the Broadway-quality Aladdin show.

Planning to hand her an anniversary gift or pop the question? The restaurant staff will be happy to help, if you like (you can have an engagement ring placed on top of your dessert, for example), but there are plenty of other great locations in the park for those magical moments, such as: the top deck of the Mark Twain riverboat as you cruise along the river, in front of Snow White Grotto at the side of Sleeping Beauty  Castle, or while the two of you are zipping along   Radiator Springs Racers in the all new Cars Land.

Another traditional spot for proposals is in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle just before the fireworks begin. Disneyland Resort actually offers you three options for lights, music and fire in the sky: the traditional fireworks over the castle, the Fantasmic show where Mickey fights the forces of evil, and the World of Color Nighttime Spectacular with lights and images on walls of water. If Fantasmic is your choice, you might want to book the dessert package – you get special seating for the show and a box of desserts to enjoy while you cheer Mickey on.

You can make your reservations online. She’ll be impressed that you’ve taken the time to plan a spectacular day for the two of you. And be sure to get one of the PhotoPass photographers to take some photos (you can go online later to choose the ones you want) – they’ll help you remember the magic of this date.
