Oscar 2020: Men On The Red Carpet

The annual Academy Awards ceremony is not only the biggest night of the year for film, it has become the biggest night of the year for fashion. Of course, the 92nd annual Academy Awards festivities were filled with glamorous gowns… But, what about the guys?

Don’t worry we’ve got you covered. Here’s a look at a few of our best dressed gents from the 2020 Oscar red carpet at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

Timothée Chalamet
Timothée Chalamet arrived at the 2020 Oscars wearing a navy Prada zip-up tracksuit over a white shirt, paired with black, square-toed dress shoes and a white gold, platinum, ruby and diamond Cartier brooch. The zip-up silky two-piece was a truly unexpected fashion highlight amongst the sea of black suits.

Brad Pitt
On Sunday night Brad Pitt finally won his first acting Oscar (for best supporting actor) for his breezy turn in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood. Pitt was also a winner on the red carpet wearing a velvet, shawl-collared jacket.

Leonardo DiCaprio
Leonardo DiCaprio brought classic Old Hollywood styles to the red carpet… as always. The Best Actor nominee (and previous winner) opted for a classic black tux for Hollywood’s biggest night.

Spike Lee
Spike Lee paid tribute to Kobe Bryant with a purple and yellow Gucci suit, featuring the basketball legend’s number 24, and Nike Kobe 9 Elite Strategy sneakers. Lee is a fan of the sport, and directed Kobe: Doin’ Work, a 2009 documentary about Kobe’s work ethic.

Rami Malek & Mahershala Ali
Here come the men in black! Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali hit the red carpe wearing head-to-toe black with a glint of gold jewellery, and Academy Award winner Rami Malek followed the trend wearing a head-to-toe Saint Laurent look by Anthony Vaccarello.

Billy Porter
Billy Porter knows how to shut down the red carpet. Last year the actor wore a custom Christian Siriano look that featured a classic tuxedo jacket and a full-skirted black gown. This year Porter wore a Giles Deacon Couture creation that featured a gold, gilded feather top, and a graphic printed ball skirt.
