Fragrance Of The Month: Burberry Brit Rhythm EDT

When Burberry Chief Creative and Chief Executive Officer Christopher Bailey came on board as Burberry’s then design director in 2001, he applied his vision to all aspects of the brand from creative leadership to digital innovation. Under Bailey’s direction throughout the past 13 years, music has also become a cultural component of the British luxury brand ranging from live performances at runway shows, music collaborations in brand campaigns, and the Burberry music platform devoted to emerging talent, Burberry Acoustic. Even Burberry’s Brit Rhythm fragrance for men finds its main inspiration from music.

Sexy and provocative, Burberry Brit Rhythm is the liquid equivalent of a rock concert. It’s a scent rooted in the adrenaline and energy of a live performance. The eau’s fresh herbs, vibrant spice and shot of tangy berries create an electrifying combination, while rough and tumble black leather, heady patchouli, and warm tonka bean, cedar wood and incense provide a something-amazing-is-about-happen vibe. The EDT is even accompanied by a 30-second, indie-rock-style commercial, featuring brand ambassador, model and These New Puritan’s drummer George Barnett.

Further entangling fashion and music, the fragrance’s smoky grey and black flacon is embellished with a studded version of the signature check. Those rainy-day trench coats have come a long way, baby.

Burberry Brit Rhythm comes in two sizes: 50 ml for $72 and 90 ml for $90. It’s available at burberry.com as well as the Hudson’s Bay, Shoppers Drug Mart, Sephora and Holt Renfrew stores across Canada.
