It’s safe to say that for over a century, everything walking (or for that matter, driving) out the door of Italian fashion house Ermenegildo Zegna is considered to be the ultimate in luxury. And while the fourth generation, family operated and now, Estee Lauder-owned company is renowned for its exquisite suits we’re all about the fragrance.

With its dry, sexy, musky composition, Peruvian Ambrette is the seventh and latest eau to join the brand’s upscale Essenze fragrance collection—all of which feature one signature note in each flacon. And as this bottle’s name dictates, the ambrette seed reigns.

Rumoured to be an aphrodisiac, the ambrette seed oil is a woody, musky, nutty and slightly floral scent that simultaneously calms the mind while bolstering the mood. Paired with the Zegna Collection’s exclusive and Calabria-grown bergamot notes, along with tangy mandarin oil, spicy black pepper and smooth suede accord and guaiac wood, the end result is invigorating and sensual. And like its predecessors, this eau de toilette is housed in a contemporary, square, grey, glass bottle with a custom label featuring a corresponding coloured border, reflecting the key notes of the fragrance.

Ermenegildo Zegna Peruvian Ambrette EDT fragrance comes in 125 ml for $215. It’s available at Holt Renfrew and Harry Rosen stores across Canada.
