Fragrance Of The Month: Hugo Boss, Boss Bottled

This month? We try out Hugo Boss, Boss Bottled EDP…

With a line-up of notes that reads like a holiday checklist, as it includes apple, bergamot, black pepper, chestnut, cardamom and cinnamon, Hugo Boss’s new eau de parfum Boss Bottled is the perfect winter scent.

Following the fragrant direction of its 1998 predecessor, this version of Bottled is fresh and spicy, opening with tart apple, zesty bergamot and spicy black pepper. It then heats up with the warm and welcoming additions of cinnamon, chestnut and cardamom notes before easing into a woody and intimate base of sharp vetiver and sensual musk. The overall effect is masculine, fiery and inviting.

The bottle, naturally, emulates the German fashion brand’s line of previously named parfums complete with a sleek cylinder shape featuring the word BOSS in raised glass and running along the length of the flacon. While the juice itself is clear, the bottle is tinted in a silvery hue with just a hint of gold colour, giving it a bold and energetic vibe. A shiny, silvery-gold metal topper caps the eau and provides the finishing touch.

Hugo Boss BOSS Bottled EDP, $99 for 50 ml, $122 for 100 ml, available at Hudson’s Bay stores across Canada and online at www.thebay.com.
