Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty And Why Men Want It

Chances are, if you’re a sporty guy, you’ve probably taken a ball, a puck, a birdie and maybe even a fist to the face during a game or two. It hurts. Especially if the hit had any impact on your nose. And let’s be real, most of you didn’t get a nose job afterwards to correct whatever physical and aesthetic damage occurred. Well, you may still not need to. According to Facial Plastic Surgeon Dr. Michael Brandt at FORM Face+Body, non-surgical rhinoplasty is the way to go and below, he explains why.

What is Liquid Rhinoplasty?

Non-surgical rhinoplasty, also known as a liquid nose job or liquid rhinoplasty, involves the use of facial fillers to subtly reshape or redefine the appearance of the nose including altering its shape, size and symmetry and addressing minor imperfections such as bumps, asymmetry and drooping tips. “Filler injected in the nose gives the illusion of a change of shape in the nose without surgery, incisions, or invasive procedures,” explains Dr. Brandt. “Liquid rhinoplasty lets expert injectors create new contours or restore balance to the shape of the nose.”

Who is a good candidate?

Anyone. Patients seeking simple cosmetic changes, asymmetry on the nose or a nasal flare can benefit from these specific injections to reshape the nose. Injections can restore more balance to the overall shape of your nose. “For example, if you’ve got a bump on the ridge of your nose you don’t like, we can add filler above the bump to help soften the contour of the nose and create a smoother nasal silhouette,” says Dr. Brandt.  “Injections at the tip of the nose are also a great way to lift a nose that has a downward slope, or to create the illusion of a smoother line along the nose.”

What are the benefits?

Well, for starters, a less invasive procedure than a traditional, surgical nose job: If you’re not ready to commit to surgery but are curious about reshaping your nose, liquid rhinoplasty can also be a great way to see if you’re ready for surgery or to try out a different shape to see how it complements your face. There are also long-lasting, semi-permanent results, says Dr. Brandt. “Liquid rhinoplasty is semi-permanent and lasts 12-18 months after one session,” he explains. “Some patients only have two sessions in total and enjoy their results for years to come.” And there’s downtime needed. Unlike traditional rhinoplasty, this liquid version requires is injection based which requires little to now downtime to recover and heal. “Injections can be part of a normal week and offer a quick recovery to fit easily within a normal week,” adds Dr. Brandt.

Additionally, it’s a quick procedure. Fillers in the nose area can be as quick as five minutes and are relatively affordable in comparison to surgery. Plus, there’s the flexibility for subtle results. “If the change you’re looking for is more subtle, dermal fillers offer us a non-invasive way to make alterations that are subtly transformative,” affirms Dr. Brandt. “Liquid or non-surgical rhinoplasty is gaining in popularity and when it’s done by an experienced provider it can offer a safe and dramatic change for appropriate patients without the down time associated with surgery.  It’s a quick fix measure that helps restore confidence.”
