Cars cars cars! Now that we have your attention one of the most anticipated auto shows in North America is taking place in Toronto from February 14-23. With more than 125 exhibitors, approximately 1,000 cars and trucks on display, the 2014 Canadian International Auto Show (CIAS) delivers a slice of automotive heaven for everyone.

Spread over 500,000 sqft CIAS can be a little daunting to take-in, we recommend grabbing a floor map to look for these must-see cars (in no particular order) which have our engines revving.

Zoom zoom! We’re starting out with the winner of the 2014 Canadian Car of the Year (CCOTY) as voted by the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC). The Mazda6 is not the flashiest man-made machine in our line-up but we like it for practical reasons. The price tag for this mid-size car is over $30K making it affordable; it comes with a four cylinder engine and you’ll get great fuel economy, approximately 5.1 L/100 km on the highway.

Those Germans know how to make a nice piece of machinery and when the five-door Audi S3 Sportback e-tron is available in 2015, you’ll have a 204 horse power (hp) engine at your fingers tips. The car accelerates to a speed of 100 km/h in just 7.6 seconds and has a top speed of 222 km/h. You would never know that this was Audi’s first plug-in hybrid car.

McLaren MP4-12C Spider

Auto Exotica Exhibit

Get ready to be wowed! There are several exotic vehicles appearing at CIAS which are a must-see for any car lover. Lucky for you they’re all located in the same area (north building, level 100) so you don’t have to bounce from place to place to see the Aston Martin Vanquish, McLaren MP4-12C Spider or the Canadian debut of the 2014 Maserati Quattroporte.

We have a need for speed and the 2015 Corvette Z06 has us ready to put the pedal to the medal. This bad boy comes with an aluminum V8 engine delivering approximately 625 hp and 635 lbs of torque. Of course, you shouldn’t be driving this ride on anything but on a race track, however if you safely cruise on the streets it has a Performance Data Recorder which will record, share and analyze your driving experiences on and off the track. And to take it to the next level you can log videos of your drives, with real-time performance data on a SD memory card.
