Woman Crush Wednesday: Megan Fox

Above: Megan Fox at the premiere of 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' in New York City

Name: Megan Denise Fox

Birthdate: May 16, 1986

Birthplace: Oak Ridge, Tennessee

Claim to fame: Starring in the first two Transformers movies as Mikaela Banes (Shia Labeouf’s love interest).

What we can see her in next: She’s starring in the Michael Bay re-boot of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which is now in theatres everywhere.

Interesting fact: Despite her public sex-symbol persona, she has stated publicly that she’s only ever been intimate with two men in her life: her childhood sweetheart and her husband, 90210 alum Brian Austin Green. This is probably a cause-effect relationship from the fact that she grew up Catholic in an extremely strict household and wasn’t aloud to date. Also, she reportedly had a relationship with a female stripper when she first moved to LA, which is conveniently not included in her intimacy tally.

Best quote: “I think people are born bisexual and they make subconscious choices based on the pressures of society. I have no question in my mind about being bisexual. But I’m also a hypocrite: I would never date a girl who is bisexual, because that means they also sleep with men, and men are so dirty that I’d never sleep with a girl who had slept with a man.” — commenting on her bisexual orientation.

We we love her: Megan Fox won hearts when she bent over a car hood in the first Transformers movie, which probably alone is a big reason why that first movie made hundreds of millions of dollars at the box office. So pretty much, Michael Bay, in big part, can thank Megan Fox and her luscious figure for helping put his kids in school and food on his table. But Megan Fox is our crush this week not because she supremely fits the stereotypical mold for what people should aspire to look like, or because she looks like the second-coming of Angelina Jolie…almost like she could have come out of her ________ (you know what I mean) but because she’s fierce, rebellious, outspoken (cue in her public comparison of working for Michael Bay to Hitler, which ultimately got her fired), and has proven to us that not every female sex symbol is going to shell out her body like it’s a public rest stop.

Now a little into her backstory: Megan Fox grew up in a very strict and religious household (as aforementioned), to the degree that she wasn’t even aloud to date, but she has said that she broke that role on several occasions, climbing out her bedroom window and stealing her mom’s car to go meet boys. From an early age she got into modeling, and then acting, eventually moving out to LA on her own, as just a young teenager to escape her cagey and devout-religious parents. From here she booked some odd roles, as well as a reoccurring role on the ABC sitcom Hope & Faith, which is where she first met her now-husband, Brian Austin Green (who is actually 13 years her senior). Then came a role as Lindsay Lohan’s rival in 2004’s, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen. And as we all are familiar with, she became an instant overnight “hot girl” sensation with the first Transformers movie in 2007. After those first couple of movies, she became a huge magazine cover figure, as well as a predominant google search item for men everywhere. Actually leading to several men’s online publications such as AskMen.com to boycott her because she was drawing “too much” attention to their site. If you can believe that — websites were eliminating her because she was making their traffic grow too fast.

In recent years Megan Fox has dropped off the map, as she’s had two kids and been focusing on other familial affairs. But now we all have reason to be excited as she’s starring in the new re-boot of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which is produced by her prior foe Michael Bay, and is set-up to be an epic summer blockbuster, or an epic summer failure. The stakes are high, but one thing’s forsure, this foxy actress definitely won’t be drawing anything but positive attention.

You can now catch Megan Fox in the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, in theatres everywhere.
