Paco Rabanne’s latest addition to the Invictus collection balances crisp marine freshness, aromatic woods and an addictive vanilla finish, creating a bold new parfum inspired by strength, confidence and the thrill of victory.
Long before Rabanne became synonymous with futuristic fashion, its founder was already challenging the rules of design. Paco Rabanne, the French fashion house launched in 1966 by Spanish-born designer Francisco “Paco” Rabaneda Cuervo, was built on disruption. After fleeing Spain with his family during the Spanish Civil War and growing up in Paris, Rabanne trained as an architect before moving into fashion, creating jewellery, then transforming clothing with unexpected materials like metal and paper and later, using his fearless approach to mix-master fragrance, like this latest creation: Invictus Elixir.
Named after the Latin word for “unconquered,” this new eau is part of the Invictus collection, which, for 13 years, has explored the tension between athletic force and refined confidence. Invictus Elixir is a woody aromatic parfum that combines mineral freshness, aromatic woods and a rich vanilla finish into a bold signature scent.
The fragrance opens with a charged blend of mineral notes, salt and grapefruit, creating a crisp, ocean-inspired introduction with a bright citrus edge. Next, creamy coconut alongside soothing lavender and sharp cypress notes add a smooth aromatic layer that feels fresh yet grounded, before swirling into a blend of luxuriously sweet and salty vanilla caviar and sultry and earthy cedar, benzoin and moss for a lasting woody finish. The overall result is powerful without feeling heavy—a fragrance that moves between cool intensity and addictive warmth.
The bottle mirrors the Invictus identity: a polished golden trophy shape with sculptural lines that suggest movement and victory. Its metallic finish and bold packaging make it a display piece, while the new face of the scent—Italian model and former competitive athlete Giacomo Cavalli—reinforce Rabanne’s bold, sexy and unstoppable qualities. And the idea that good grooming is never routine. It’s ritual. Unstoppable.
Rabanne Invictus Elixir, $154 for 50ml, $195 for 100ml, $258 for 200ml, available at Holt Renfrew, Sephora and Shoppers Drug Mart.
