Bran & Co. in the Woods

Bran Stark, Robb’s brother, is on the lamb in the woods along with his brother Rickon, the massive, but mentally challenged stablehand Hodor, Osha, the wildling woman who help save he and his brother from Theon Greyjoy when he invaded and sacked their home, Winterfell.

Still recovering from his life-threatening fall – he saw Jamie and Cersei Lannister getting busy in Season 1, Episode 1, and Jamie pushed him out of a window, causing him paralysis in his legs – the young Stark continues to see visions in his sleep.

Listen — The Starks are the centerpiece of this show (though everyone gets equal airtime), so you know something is eventually going to happen with Bran and his travelling companions. They’ve recently met the mysterious Jojen Reed and his sister, Meera, so things are likely to get a little more exciting here going forward.

Daenerys Targaryen (a.k.a. “The Mother of Dragons,” Khaleesi, Queen of the Dothraki)

We’ve saved the best for last. Why is Daenerys the best? She’s smoking hot, and she’s got dragons. Dragons are a big thing in Westeros and Essos because they’re thought to be extinct, but “The Mother of Dragons” has three young ones, and she’s on a mission.

Her father used to the king, but Joffrey’s “father,” Robert Baratheon, ousted him and claimed the Iron Throne, while she and her douche brother Viserys were smuggled to safety. Her now-deceased Dothraki husband, Khal Drogo, killed her brother in Season One (she was okay with this), and now Daenerys is working her way back towards King’s Landing.

She pissed off some warlocks near the end of Season Two, and they’re still after her, plus she’s just bought an army of 8,000 who are more or less programmed to do whatever they’re commanded to do. Daenerys is like the underdog you got attached to early on, and now you want her to win the whole damn thing. Since she’s got dragon and an army of men ready to do her bidding, she might do just that one day.

Game of Thrones airs Sunday evenings on HBO Canada.
