In February, audiences around the world were treated to the first teaser for Star Trek: Discovery. The show marked a long-awaited return to the small screen for the iconic sci-fi franchise which has currently been off the air since 2005. Not much was known about the new addition to the popular saga, but we did know that it would come with some serious star power.

Along with new captain and Walking Dead alum, Sonequa Martin-Green, Discovery would boast a talented cast including Anthony Rapp and Crouching Tiger‘s Michelle Yeoh. The painfully short preview clip left much to our imagination, but it did reveal the new ship’s slick appearance and a few shots of potential characters. It wasn’t much to work with, but for Trekkies everywhere, it was plenty to get excited about.

This week, we’re being blessed with a full-length trailer for the new adventure which will air on CBS this coming fall. Judging from the electrifying new footage, viewers will be able to expect new worlds and a brutal conflict between the Federation and the powerful Klingon Empire.

In a prominent sequence during the trailer, you can see Martin-Green venture through a barren planet that reminds this writer a lot of Enterprise episode, “Desert Crossing”. If for whatever reason you don’t remember that particular hour of television, be sure to check out Star Trek wikia, Memory Alpha for future reference. In the meantime, you can check out all of the geeky goodness below via Twitter, and be sure to follow the show’s official account for future updates.
