After finding an initial home on Crackle, Jerry Seinfeld is switching his allegiance to streaming giant, Netflix. The iconic comedian has signed a deal with the company, which will produce and broadcast two new stand-up specials, as well as the popular series Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee. The latter property will receive 24 new episodes, which will premiere later this year and run through 2018. According to The Wrap, all previous 59 episodes of the interview show will land on Netflix sometime soon. Seinfeld will reportedly help the company develop new original programming, including scripted and unscripted comedy.

Netflix CCO, Ted Sarandos, spoke to press yesterday and expressed his excitement regarding the new partnership. “Jerry is known the world over as both a great TV innovator and beloved comic voice. We are incredibly proud to welcome him to the Netflix comedy family.” Seinfeld himself seems to share the sentiment, and even poked fun at Netflix’s previously archaic delivery system. “When I first started thinking about Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee,’ the entire Netflix business model consisted of mailing out DVDs in envelopes. I love that we are now joining together, both at very different points.”

Aside from this new and exciting content, Netflix has also invested in stand-up specials from Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle. Those aforementioned shows are slated to debut sometime later this year.
