Between Stranger Things, The OA, and the Golden Globe winning drama, The Crown, Netflix has really been on a roll lately. While the streaming service has delivered some of the best television content around, it has yet to make an equal impact with its original motion pictures. This is something the company appears to be working on, with a number of new productions making their way onto the website in the coming months. Of course, we’ll have to wait and see exactly how successful these cinematic endeavours end up being, but in the meantime, we’re getting our first look at 2017’s first noteworthy feature.

Arriving at the end of the month is, iBoy. The action-packed thriller is based upon the novel of the same name, which tells the story of a young man who has part of a smartphone embedded into his brain. The incident occurs after a run in with a violent group of thugs, who target the boy’s best friend, played by Game of Thrones star, Maisie Williams. The role of the titular character is in the hands of X-Men actor, Bill Milner, while veterans Rory Kinnear and Miranda Richardson fill out the main cast. iBoy comes to Netflix on January 27, but we’ve been treated to an extensive look this week. Watch the trailer below, and be sure to book some viewing time in advance.
