Last night Diner en Blanc returned to Toronto for another spectacular outdoor epicurean feast. Toronto’s 3rd annual pop-up culinary event took over Echo Beach at Ontario Place on Wednesday September 17th, when 1,500 guests dressed all in white arrived from various meeting points across the city carrying their foldable tables, chairs, picnic baskets, candles, and all-white decor.

Originating in Paris, France over 25 years ago, Diner en Blanc is a globally-celebrated dinner party where attending guests dressed in head to toe white descend upon a previously undisclosed location to enjoy a meal under the stars. Over one hundred thousand members participate in the annual events that take place across Europe and North America every year, with more than 15,000 attending the annual event in Paris.

Last night as Ontario Place turned into a sea of white, friends and strangers at Toronto’s third secret affair bonded over wine and food while taking in a spectacular view of Toronto’s skyline. Sounds of live jazz music filled the air throughout the unique al fresco dining experience until the sun set and DJ’s took over turning the elegant dinner into an all-white dance party.

A worthy excuse to break the no white after Labour Day rule if there ever was one.
