Fragrance Of The Month: Guy Laroche Drakkar Intense EDP

This month? We try out Guy Laroche Drakkar Intense EDP…

Since debuting the now iconic Drakkar Noir for men in 1982, Guy Laroche has been a household name when it comes to smelling great. So it’s no surprise the French fashion house’s latest eau de parfum is as superb as its predecessor.

Described as dangerous and addictive in its ad campaigns, Drakkar Intense is a sultry and aromatic blend. The scent opens with fresh and spicy notes of bergamot, rosemary, absinth and coriander oils before being mixed into an herbal and botanical pool complete with lavandin heart, clary sage and juniper berries. Warm and sensual vanilla, suede, moss and patchouli notes round out the eau. The overall effect is one part zesty and bold, another part earthy and masculine, while its third part is powerful and sensual.

Golden in the colour, the juice is housed in the brand’s recognizable bottle with its curved sides, flat top and bottom and matte black cap. This time though, unlike Noir, Intense features a clear glass bottle showcasing the richness and elegance of the parfum. Perfume that spritzes an underlying thread of addictive danger, naturally.

Guy Laroche Drakkar Intense EDP, $95 for 50 ml and $115 for 100 ml, available at Hudson’s Bay.
