After months of speculation, one of the season’s most anticipated sneakers has finally been unveiled to the world. The brand new Air Jordan 32 was revealed earlier this week, and it looks like the basketball shoe is already a hit with fans everywhere. A mixture of forward thinking design and iconic tinges, the 32 seamlessly pushes the sneaker world to new heights while honouring Jordan’s iconic legacy in the process.

The shoe was first shown off at a branded event in Turin, Italy, which is a nod to the model’s original inspiration, the Jordan 2. That particular silhouette was designed in the European nation all the way back in 1986 by Peter Moore and Bruce Kilgore. It was a blatant marketing and manufacturing decision that gave the shoe an allure of luxury. Now more than thirty years later, Jordan Brand is going back to that same well for the Air Jordan 32.

Designed with basketball in mind, the new sneaker is made to be flexible and lightweight. The 32 has a sturdy Flyknit upper, flight plate cushioning, and hidden lacing to drive home sleekness. In a company press release, Jordan VP of Design, David Creech, says that the shoe is the result of careful craftsmanship and fashion awareness. “We craft every detail from macro to micro, obsessing fit, form and function,” said Creech. “Thirty years ago, they obsessed those same details when designing the AJ II, which led to the premium materials and the innovative style of Italy.”

The Air Jordan 32 “Rossa Corsa” will hit store shelves on September 23. Jordan Brand will also release a midtop version on October 18. For more information about the drop, check out the company’s official website here.
