It may not feel like it out there, but winter is right around the corner. Despite the warm temperatures this month, it’s best to prep for the harsh weather ahead, and that means investing in some new footwear. Thankfully, there are some great sneaker options on the market right now, which means you’ll be able to look stylish and still keep your feet dry.
This year, designers at Nike are hard at work delivering slick new kicks that can resist subzero conditions, and we’re already seeing these new models hit store shelves. Much like their competition, the athletic giant is fully embracing the winterized trend with their latest releases, and we couldn’t be happier for it. Earlier this week, Nike released an updated all-terrain model of its classic Air Pegasus silhouette, and the early looks at the shoe are quite promising.
The classic silhouette originally launched back in 1983 with the goal of being an affordable alternative to expensive running shoes. Nike’s Air Pegasus was crafted by Mark Parker and Bruce Kilgore who at the time, were in the midst of creating another iconic shoe called the Air Force. Parker and Kilgore injected some of the Air Force details directly into the Pegasus, but they also let the model shine on its own with a nylon upper and suede toe.
As for this year’s winterized edition, the new Pegasus will boast a rubber outsole and an advanced lacing system to help the shoe stay snug while running on the trail. The weather-resistant Air Pegasus All Terrain is available now, so snag them before snow hits the ground. For a more detailed look at the shoe, check out the slideshow below.
