Actor Alan Thicke Dead At 69

Alan Thicke, the Canadian actor best known for his leading role in the hit 1980s sitcom Growing Pains has died. He was 69.

TMZ first reported Tuesday night that Thicke was playing hockey with his son Carter when he had a heart attack. The Los Angeles Times later confirmed the news with a quote from his son Robin Thicke’s publicist.

Thicke was born in Kirkland Lake, Ontario in 1947. Over the course of his career, he had guest roles on multiple TV shows, but he was most recognized for his work as Dr. Jason Seaver on Growing Pains.

In 2013, he was inducted into Canada’s Walk of Fame.

Thicke leaves behind his wife, Tanya, and sons Brennan, Carter and Robin.
