Woman Crush Wednesday: Jennifer Aniston

Above: Jennifer Aniston on the red carpet

Name: Jennifer Joanna Aniston

Birthdate: February 11, 1969

Birthplace: Sherman Oaks, California

Claim to fame: Aniston, along with her co-stars, shot to fame during the 10-year tenure of the NBC hit sitcom, Friends (1994-2004). She became known and loved by audiences as the hilarious and beautiful Rachel Green.

What we can see her in next: She will be starring in a new crime-comedy titled Life Of Crime, which hits theatres on August 29.

Interesting fact: She originally auditioned for the role of Monica Geller on Friends, but she persuaded producers that she was better suited to play Rachel Green. She got the role after producers told her to lose 30 pounds.

Best quote: “I was told to avoid the business all together because of the rejection. People would say to me, ‘Don’t you want to have a normal job and a normal family?’ I guess that would be good advice for some people, but I wanted to act.” — on ignoring people’s advice to not pursue acting.

Why we love her: To most of us, Jennifer Aniston (or Rachel Green) was a pinup poster of female perfection growing up. She was the perfectly combined gorgeous, but hilarious actress on the hit TV show, Friends. That’s where we first fell in love with her and stayed in love with her throughout her career. That’s why she’s our crush this week, because 10 years after Friends, and at the age of 45, she’s still rocking and looking as good as ever.

Even with her success on TV, Aniston has endured a very formidable film career. While most of her roles have been leads in romantic-comedies, she has still managed to keep audiences coming out to see her movies and continually booking the big paydays. Some of her most prominent films throughout her career have been: Picture Perfect (2007), Office Space (2009), The Good Girl (2002), Bruce Almighty (2003), Along Came Polly (2004), The Break-Up (2006), Marley and Me (2008), Just Go With It (2011), Horrible Bosses (2011), Horrible Bosses 2 (2014), and We’re The Millers (2013).

Still to this day, Aniston is one of most powerful and influential actresses in Hollywood. She has frequently been ranked in the top 10 of the ‘100 Most Powerful Actresses’ as rated by Forbes magazine, as well as one of the top-selling celebrity faces and one of the richest women in the entertainment industry.

Jennifer Aniston is our crush this week because she’s that gorgeous California girl whose ageless appearance seems blessed by some sort of mystical Peter Pan syndrome, and she still has no problem making us laugh. Now that’s a lethal combination!

Her new movie Life Of Crime hits theatres on August 29th.
