A hundred years ago World War I hadn’t yet happened, but was about to. A hundred years ago “automobiles” were just hitting the market, most of them Ford Model T. A hundred years ago the present was a hazy future inside a cubist painting.

2013: A hundred years later the long walk isn’t over. Women across the world suffer inequality and silence. In July, Malala Yousafzai, education and women’s rights activist from Pakistan, celebrates her 16th birthday by delivering her first speech since she survived a bullet to the head by the Taliban. She delivers it at the UN.
