Barack Obama Shares His Favourite Books and Songs of 2017

It seems like former United States President, Barack Obama, finally has enough spare time to focus on the things he loves. And while number 44 has always been effortlessly cool, his most recent list of favourite things further proves just how tuned in he really is. Much like everyone else at the moment, Obama has been taking to social media this last while to reminisce and review the last 365 days. Thankfully, he took to Facebook recently and made his top books and songs of 2017 public. Perhaps most unsurprising is that B.O. has terrific taste and his post is a great place to find some new things to binge in the new year.

“During my presidency,” his post begins, “I started a tradition of sharing my reading lists and playlists. It was a nice way to reflect on the works that resonated with me and lift up authors and artists from around the world. With some extra time on my hands this year to catch up, I wanted to share the books and music that I enjoyed most.” The list is delightfully extensive, and includes deep cuts from the world of literature existing beside party-starting tunes from the likes of reggaeton star, J Balvin.

As far as books go, Barack is a big fan of Anything is Possible by Elizabeth Stout, The Power by Naomi Alderman, and Grant by Ron Chernow. Meanwhile, 44 has been jamming to tracks by Camila Cabello, Chance The Rapper, and Toronto’s own Daniel Caesar. You can read his full list below via Facebook.
