Look, we know you’ll be busy over the holidays, but do yourselves all a favour and set aside some quality time for Netflix. According to multiple reports, the creators of Black Mirror are planning a very special project for this upcoming season and it’s set to be unlike anything else you’ll see on your small screen this year.
Yesterday, Bloomberg dropped a bomb by revealing that the hit sci-fi show will debut a unique choose your own adventure experience in its next batch of episodes. Bloomberg writer, Lucas Shaw, said that Netflix is in the process of developing a handful of one-off specials with the interactive feature, and the first one will hit the service by the end of the year.
This wouldn’t be the first time Netflix has played with the idea, but it would be the first time that such a prominent series tested it out. Kids programming on the streaming platform has already utilized the feature, with an animated Puss in Book series being a prime and recent example. Of course, we still don’t quite know the full scope of Black Mirror‘s forthcoming take on this style.
Despite the uncertainty, this newfound venture into television could be the beginning of a brand new trend. For more on Black Mirror and its wild experiment, stay locked onto our Movies & TV section.
