Larry David Pokes Fun at John Oliver in New Trailer for ‘Last Week Tonight’

Above: The popular HBO show returns next month

Way back in 2015, we gushed about John Oliver’s current affairs show, Last Week Tonight. The HBO satire was barely a year old at the time, and was slotted dangerously close to beloved ratings juggernaut, Game of Thrones. While we were no doubt primed for quality viewing, most didn’t expect the show to have such an immediate appeal and now assuredly, a concrete impact beyond the screen. We could go on about why Last Week Tonight is changing the landscape of television, but we did in fact already do so in the aforementioned article. Instead, and after a hiatus that seemed like forever, we’re bringing you the much-needed teaser for a brand new fourth season.

That’s right, before HBO subscribers around the world become enthralled with the fantastical world of Game of Thrones, Sunday will belong to Last Week Tonight – and with the current socio-political climate, it’ll be must-see TV. Just as President Trump begins his campaign as leader of the free world, John Oliver will be there for our cathartic take on the news. In addition, we can expect some tongue-in-cheek grassroots efforts to make a comeback. Who knows, perhaps we’ll get an update on Our Lady of Perpetual Exemption? Regardless of how the season unfolds, we’ll delve into one of late night’s best offerings. You can check out the latest trailer for Last Week Tonight below, which also features Larry David and Silicon Valley‘s Kumail Nanjiani.
