Trending- Frozen Cocktails And Grown Up Ice Pops - A JULEP

Now the Mint Julep just might be the classic frozen cocktail that we often forget is basically a grown-up slushy. With its crushed ice and minty flavours, the Julep is a great way to cool down on a hot summer day. But did you know that this cocktail has been a go to summer beverage in the south since 1850. We love this new take on the Julep called the Honey Julep;  Jameson Black Barrel, honey and mint – three simple ingredients for such a tasty tipple. Enjoy!

1. Lightly press and roll mint leaves along edge of julep cup.
2. Half fill glass with crushed ice.
3. Pour in the honey syrup and Jameson Black Barrel.
4. Stir the cup until the outside looks frosty.
5. Add mint sprig garnish.
To make syrup: In medium saucepan over medium heat, stir together honey and water until honey dissolves. Increase heat slightly, then simmer 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Refrigerate syrup until cold, about 2 hours.
