Jimmy Choo. You know him for his footwear. Let me clarify, your wife, girlfriend, crush and Carrie Bradshaw’s footwear. While the Malasian-born craftsman may have risen to fashion heights courtesy of Sarah Jessica Parker’s well-heeled steps on Sex and the City, he’s been designing the fancy (and pricey) accessories since 1986. And he’s not restricted to shoes.
For the past six years, the couture brand has become a favourite for its fragrances for women. In recent years, three men’s fragrances have been added to the list. Enter: Jimmy Choo Man Ice EDT, the latest and second incarnation built off the DNA of the designer’s first men’s cologne, Jimmy Choo Man, created in 2014.
Fresh and masculine, this new eau opens with tart and juicy mandarin, bergamot and cedrat citrus notes before being mix-mastered into an intense blend of woody vetiver, spicy patchouli, warm cedarwood and crisp apple. Sensual moss, musk and ambroxan notes complete the scent giving it a sensual and hypnotic quality. Like it’s predecessors, the overall effect is effortless and aromatic, yet this time, with a softer, more passionate quality.
And much like the soles he built his brand on, Jimmy Choo’s signature flask-like bottle with metallic chrome details ensures loyalists recognize his craftsmanship at a glance.
