3. Pagani Huayra
When a supercar is re-mastered and made to push the physical boundaries of reality, it evolves into a hyper-car. Known previously as the “Zonda”, Pagani’s latest incarnate is now called the “Huayra,” which comes from the Quechua term “Huayra-tata” meaning “Father of Wind.” Its name isn’t due to its astronomical 6.0-litre, twin-turbo 730-horsepower Mercedes-Benz V12, but to its “active aerodynamics” design; it is a mix of hydraulic winglets (much like those on aircraft) which help channel airflow in and around the Huayra’s exterior body, improving the car’s agility and responsiveness. This is good news for those of us who hope to see flying cars in the future.
