6. Suspension
Stiffer springs and shock absorbers can improve handling, and better handle the extra weight from other upgrades. A stronger sway and torsion bar can equally reduce body roll when cornering as well – a nice addition if your car generally handles like a boat.
7. Brakes
Ventilated disc brakes cool off easier under heavy braking, helping avoid disc damage (such as warping). Though more expensive, some owners may even choose a ‘disc-disc’ conversion, which replaces the rear drums with disc/caliper brakes.
8. Chassis
When accelerating, your car is subject to torsion, which, over time, can cause warping at key points in the chassis. Reinforcement, such as torque bars are installed to deal with this problem. Torque bars vary as per vehicle drivetrain type (FWD, RWD, AWD or 4×4.)
9. Exterior aesthetics
Depending on your car, an array of window-tints, body kits, hoods and custom spoilers are usually available, allowing you to personalize your ride as you see fit. Fog lights and high-definition projector headlamp kits are nice finishing touches as well.
10. A good ol’ tune-up
Poor gas mileage, excessively burning motor oil, rough start/idle and poor acceleration (among others) are sure signs of a much-needed tune-up. Cleaning the intake, replacing the air filter, spark-plugs and cables are just some of the options that can help restore power back into your old stallion.

I find it interesting when you said that a possible way to tune cars with automatic transmissions is to get an ECU so that they can shift faster. In addition to that, before having it installed in a car, a driver must buy it from a trusted local dealer. Doing this will help increase the engine’s lifespan and improve its performance at the same time.
Wow! I find it awesome that you suggested getting short-shift kits in order to reduce the time between changing gears. Reading through your article will help me get my car in better shape so that I can join in a drifting tournament next week. Since I need to get this auto part to improve the car’s speed, any tips on which shop should I get it from? Thanks!
