If there’s one thing we’ve come to learn about tech giant Apple, it’s that they know how to throw an event. Today’s press conference was no exception, as the company unveiled their newest batch of services and software, most notably of course, the iPhone 7. The event was chock-full of information, and featured guest appearances by design officers at Instagram, Nike, and even Sia, because why not?

The whole shebang started off with an introduction by James Corden, who led Tim Cook and ageless wonder, Pharrell Williams, through a mini episode of Carpool Karaoke. The significance? Apple is apparently partnering with the series for exclusive segments, likely powered by Apple Music. This tidbit was dropped within the first few minutes of the show. If you were unable to stream the presser, and have yet to dare the Twitterverse, we’ve jotted down the highlights. If you’re a fan of Apple products, prepare to hold onto your butts.

iPhone 7

To date, Apple has sold a billion iPhones. It’s the most popular smartphone on the market by a long shot. As for the new edition itself, iPhone 7 is being called the “best phone ever made”. The device contains a singular shape, with very few movable parts. It’s one sheet of glass and aluminum, and has a high gloss finish, called “Jet Black”. The home button has been completely redesigned. It’s now force-sensitive, something made possible through its taptic engine. It’s in a solid state, and allows for intricate, taptic feedback. iPhone is now water and dust resistant, and has an amazing camera. The lens in the basic iPhone 7 has 3x exposure, and allows us to shoot more steadily. The camera is 60% faster and includes 4 LEDs putting out way more light than its predecessors. The flicker sensors can compensate artificial light, and the new ISP looks for objects and bodies, while setting up focus and exposure like never before. The camera captures cinema standard colour, and it truly looks gorgeous. Live photos are better than ever, and a 7MP front facing camera, makes your selfies more crystal clear.
