A chemically perfect diamond is transparent, but almost no diamond is chemically perfect. After D the colour rankings run to Z, which connotes light but visible colouration. After K, diamonds are no longer white, but Coloured Diamonds. These diamonds are less expensive, and come in colours such as yellow, pink and blue, the Fancy Colours. Ask about your diamond’s letter grade, and be careful with colour. It all depends on your significant other’s preference.
