A blemish on the Table of a gem means a mark on the top surface of the stone, or the stone’s Face. Moving down the stone, the Girdle is the midsection, the stone’s waistline. This is where prongs will fasten the stone to a ring. Anything above the girdle moving up to the table is the Crown, while everything below the girdle is the Pavilion. The Culet is the point at the diamond’s bottom.
