Woman Crush Wednesday: Mila Kunis

Above: Mila Kunis on the red carpet

Name: Milena Markovna Kunis

Birthdate: August 14, 1983

Birthplace: Chemivtsi, Ukraine

Claim to fame: Playing Jackie Burkhart for eight seasons on That 70’s Show.

What we can see her in next: She plays one of the leads in the new Paul Haggis movie Third Person, which had a limited release in the US on June 20.

Interesting fact: She was only fourteen when she booked the role on That 70’s Show, even though the actors had to be eighteen to audition. She lied and told the casting directors and producers that she would be turning eighteen soon. They found out she lied about her age when it came time to signing the contract, but by that point she had already won everybody over and it didn’t matter.

Best quote: “Confidence, not cockiness. Knowing who you are is confidence. Cockiness is knowing who you are and pushing it down everyone’s throat.” — On what she finds sexy in a man.

Why we love her: Our crush this week is the gorgeous and talented Mila Kunis. She stormed into our lives, maybe even annoying some of a us a little bit, as Jackie Burkhart on the hit sitcom That 70’s Show. How could we forget that nasally, high-pitched voice that would incessantly be yelling the words “Michael!!” It was the perfect combination of love and annoyance, while nowadays it’s mainly just love. She’s our crush this week because she seems like the type of chick whose perfect date would be hot dogs and a ball game. God dam you Ashton!

She moved to Los Angeles from her native Ukraine (at the time it was the Soviet Union) when she was just seven years old. She says that her parents virtually won the lottery to come to the states, leaving good jobs and degrees back home that weren’t transferrable to the states. After arriving, her dad started taking her to acting classes after school to help her learn English. Pretty soon she was discovered by a talent agent and started booking commercial and TV roles left right and center. Then came That 70’s Show and the voice role of Meg Griffin on the smash hit animated series, Family Guy.

While she had early success on TV, she didn’t get her big film breakout role until she played Rachel Jansen in Forgetting Sarah Marshall in 2008. It was that performance that really helped to launch her film career. Her most notable performance to date was playing Lily opposite Natalie Portman in Black Swan (oh boy we’ll never forget that bedroom scene), and her most commercial success was her role opposite Mark Wahlberg in the Seth McFarlane created movie, Ted.

Mila Kunis is just awesome. She’s funny, down-to-earth, laid back, and doesn’t seem to have one pretentious bone in her body. And when she looks the way she does and has the success that she has, she could totally get away with being a complete cold-hearted b*tch. But nope! She also apparently is a big time gamer and loves to nerd out playing World of Warcraft. She can now add ‘Queen of the Nerds’ to her resume as well.

Mila Kunis you’re our crush this week because you’re one quality woman. Even though we aren’t happy doing it, we wish you and Ashton the best, but only because your love story is so darn cute and all.
