Woman Crush Wednesday: Nicola Peltz

Name: Nicola Anne Peltz

Birthdate: January 9, 1995

Birthplace: Westchester County, New York

Claim to fame: Playing Tessa Yeager in the recently released Transformers movie, Age of Extinction.

What we can see her in next: She will be playing Kate Miller in Kevin Asch’s Affluenza, a coming of age story inspired by The Great Gatsby and set in the weeks running up to the financial meltdown of 2008.

Interesting fact: She is the daughter of Nelson Peltz, billionaire businessman and former owner of the Snapple brand.

Best quote: “I have six brothers and one sister. I grew up playing ice hockey, a total tomboy, and that’s what I thought I was going to do – be an ice hockey player.” — on her love for ice hockey growing up.

Why we love her: Well, she’s barely old enough to drink so it’s hard to call her a woman, but for the sake of this feature, lets call her a young woman. Nicola Peltz is our crush this week because like Megan Fox and Rose Huntington-Whiteley before her, she’s about to use the Transformers platform to become the nation’s most lucrative eye candy (Err. Once again we must tread carefully because she’s only 19). She also had the great delight of playing Marky Mark’s daughter, which for most young actresses is going to be a very “I’ve finally arrived” type moment.

So who the heck is this girl you’re probably wondering? Yes, she’s not a household name quite yet. Michael Bay decided to cast her as the next “hot girl” for his ridiculous special effects driven Transformers movie when he saw her in the A & E TV series Bates Motel, where she has been playing the character of Bradley Martin since 2013. Now she’s signed on, along with her costars Mark Wahlberg and Jack Reynor, for three movies to complete the next Transformers trilogy (So long Shia). So it’s safe to say that we will have the pleasure of watching her grow as an actress over the course of the next few movies, or maybe more so just fearfully run away from robots in shorts so small they could be found in an OshKosh Kids store. Regardless, this girl’s career is most likely about to take off into Megan Fox territory.

Nicola grew up just outside of New York City and was raised by former model Claudia Heffner and billionaire businessman Nelson Peltz, the former owner of the Snapple brand. She then started her career as a model and quickly got into acting where she booked small roles in Deck the Halls and Harold. Then last year she booked Transformers, which is clearly going to change her career very quickly if the movie does well and she proves to be charming on screen, and at least with capable acting talent.

Nicola Peltz you’re our crush this week because you’re gorgeous, youthful, and you could probably get us free delicious Snapple drinks for life. Mmmmmm.

Transformers: Age of Extinction is now in theatres everywhere.
