1913: The Woman Suffrage Parade takes place on March 3rd in Washington DC, a day before the inauguration of President Woodrow Wilson.  It marks a moment in first wave feminism, primarily oriented at allowing women the right to vote. The parade is led by Inez Milholland. She rides a horse down Pennsylvania Avenue. Helen Keller is one of 8000 in the on-foot crowd.
